Hillside Innovation Academy

Kean University brings Shaun Boothe's, The Unauthorized Biography Series, a musical project that celebrates the world’s greatest cultural icons through biographical hip-hop songs to Hillside Innovation Academy on October 26, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. in A.P. Morris' Auditorium. Tomorrow's series will capture the legacy of Bob Marley, Serena Williams, and Muhammad Ali, highlighting their positive and influential iconic work in a documentary-style music video. We are thankful to Dr. Lamont Repollet, President of Kean University and Dr. Sancha Gray, Senior Vice President for Entrepreneurial Education Initiatives for bringing this experience to our Hillside Innovation Academy Scholars. HIA also extends a warm thank you to Principal Victoria Palmer-Gilliard and Principal Rahim Graham for allowing us to host Mr. Shaun Boothe at A.P. Morris' Auditorium.

There are ways that you can help to promote awareness and show support for World Mental Health Day: Talk about mental health issues with others, especially children if they are showing signs of depression or anxiety. Attend events in your town by checking your county’s calendar. Donate to mental health organizations or charities that provide support and fund research. Volunteer your time with organizations that provide help to those who are suffering from mental health issues. There sometimes is a stigma or discrimination in communities for individuals who have mental health issues, which causes many individuals not to seek out the help that they may need. There is no need for anyone to go untreated. There are many services available.
