HIA Scholars will engage in hands-on activities on topics related to forensics, surgical techniques, and crime scene investigation. Scholars will have the opportunity to become a certified CPR provider.

Hack-a-Thon - Saturday, April 13th starting at 10 AM

Parents are encouraged to attend.

The Hillside Innovation Academy Software Development Program, facilitated by our consultant Drew Enterprises, LLC., scheduled Hack-a-thon competition on April 13th at 10:00 am in the boardroom.

This year's theme “Teens in Crises”.  The scholars developed a website that provides information surrounding various topics of conflicts faced by teens as communicated via media outlets (news, online platforms, personal experiences, health organizations, etc.).

The goal of the Software Development Program Competition is to:

·       Give the Scholars a real-world experience of developing a product, by collaborating to solve a real-world problem that may be leveraged to help teens like themselves

·       Inspire innovation and creativity to deliver information in a new way that may better be perceived by teens

·       Support entrepreneurship by developing the necessary skills required to develop a product that may be brought to market.

·       Promote education and learning by reinforcing what was learned in class and leverage the after-school support that helped scholars excel to the next level

·       Address social and environmental challenges by providing materials to the community that may be leveraged to assist a teen facing challenges.
