Welcome Back! Getting Ready for Wednesday September 6, 2023
As we prepare to welcome your scholar back to school for the upcoming academic year, I wanted to provide you with some important directions and information to ensure a smooth transition and a successful school year.
First Day of School:
Wednesday, September 6th
8:00 am -12:36 pm
Scholars may arrive no earlier than 7:30 a.m. (enter on Virginia Street Walkthrough Gate)
Meals
Breakfast is served from 7:30 a.m. - 8:00 a.m.
Breakfast after the bell is grab and go until 8:15 a.m.
Lunch is not served on half-days.
Drop-Off and Pick-Up Procedures:
Enter on Virginia Street Walkthrough Gate onto the playground.
Please do not double park, block the walkway or drop scholars off in the middle of the street.
Please be mindful of your speed.
School Supplies:
A list of required school supplies is available on our website and was emailed to you.
Uniform and Dress Code:
Hillside Public Schools has a uniform policy that all students are expected to adhere to. Please review the dress code guidelines on our website or in the student handbook to ensure your child's attire is in compliance.
Scholars are expected to be in full uniform on the first day of school.
Communication:
We encourage open and regular communication between parents and teachers. If you have any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to reach out to your child's teacher or our school administration. We also provide parent-teacher conferences throughout the year to discuss your child's progress. Please be sure your Genesis contact information is up-to-date and accurate.
We take great pride in updating our website throughout the year. Please be sure to visit it often.

School Calendar:
Our school calendar, including important dates such as holidays and parent-teacher conferences, is available on our website. Please refer to it for planning family events and vacations. The Family Scholar Handbook will be resent to you to include HIAs calendar of events and assessment calendar.
